This page explains how affiliate links and commercial relationships work on CuckoldLifestyle.com. It’s required by federal law (the FTC’s Endorsement Guides), and we also just think it’s the right thing to be clear about. So here it is, in plain language.

The Short Version

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a small commission. It costs you nothing extra. Our recommendations are based on what we actually believe is useful for our readers, not what pays the highest commission. Wicked Boutique is our own sister brand, which is a different relationship from a standard affiliate partnership, and we disclose that wherever it’s relevant.

What Affiliate Links Are

An affiliate link is a tracked link to a product, service, or store. When a reader clicks one and goes on to make a purchase, the merchant pays us a small percentage of the sale as a referral commission. It’s a standard way that publishers (from giant outlets like The New York Times’s Wirecutter down to small independent sites like ours) fund the work of creating free content.

Affiliate links are how we keep this site free to read with no paywalls and no on-page advertising.

What This Costs You

Nothing. The price you pay is identical whether you use one of our links or go to the merchant directly. The commission comes out of the merchant’s marketing budget, not your wallet.

How We Decide What to Recommend

This part matters more than the technical mechanics, so we want to be specific.

  • We recommend things we actually believe are useful for the readers and topics we cover. If we wouldn’t recommend it to a friend, we don’t recommend it on the site.
  • Commission rate doesn’t determine what we feature. A higher-paying affiliate program never gets favored over a lower-paying one when the lower-paying one is the better product for the reader.
  • We don’t run sponsored content disguised as editorial. If we ever publish anything paid for or written by an outside brand, it will be clearly labeled as such.
  • We don’t have brand relationships that compromise our writing. Nothing in our editorial decisions is made because a partner asked us to write about something.
  • We can lose money on a link and still recommend the product if it’s the right product. That has happened, and it will happen again.

The standard we hold ourselves to is simple: our recommendations should make sense even to a reader who doesn’t know which links pay us and which don’t.

How to Identify Affiliate Links on the Site

You can spot affiliate links a few ways.

  • Technical marker. Affiliate links on this site carry the HTML attribute rel="sponsored". If you hover over a link or inspect the page source, you can see this directly.
  • Context. Most affiliate links sit in the Continue Reading section at the end of each post, in product-relevant inline mentions, or in dedicated recommendation pieces.
  • Disclosure language. Where it makes sense, we’ll include a short note alongside affiliate recommendations so the relationship is obvious in context.

Links to general informational sources, educational resources, government health information, and our own internal content are not affiliate links and don’t earn us anything.

Programs We Currently Participate In

The list of merchant and affiliate programs we currently work with includes:

  • Wicked Boutique (this is a different kind of relationship, explained in the next section)

As we add formal affiliate partnerships with other retailers and product programs, we’ll update this list. If you’re reading this and curious about a specific link or relationship, you’re welcome to ask. Contact details are at the bottom of this page.

Our Relationship With Wicked Boutique

This deserves its own section because it’s not a standard affiliate arrangement.

Wicked Boutique is our sister brand. Both CuckoldLifestyle.com and Wicked Boutique are owned by the same parent company. When we link to Wicked Boutique products or collections, we’re not earning an external affiliate commission. We’re driving traffic to a brand we also run.

This is, by most standards, a closer commercial relationship than a typical affiliate partnership. We want to be upfront about it everywhere it’s relevant.

Practically, that means:

  • If we recommend a Wicked Boutique product or link to the shop, you should know we benefit commercially from that recommendation in a more direct way than a standard affiliate link.
  • We still hold the same editorial standard for Wicked Boutique mentions that we do for everything else. We don’t link to it where it doesn’t belong, and we don’t recommend products from it that we don’t actually believe in.
  • You can absolutely shop the products described on this site at other retailers. Nothing about our content requires you to buy from Wicked Boutique specifically.

Sponsored Content and Paid Partnerships

At the time of writing, we don’t publish sponsored content (articles paid for by an outside brand) on this site.

If that ever changes, sponsored pieces will be clearly labeled as such, both at the top of the post and in any social or newsletter promotion. Sponsored content will never be presented as if it were our regular editorial. The distinction matters and we’ll keep it clean.

Cookies and Tracking

Affiliate links typically set a tracking cookie on your browser when you click them. This is how the merchant knows you came from us and how the commission gets attributed. The cookie usually contains an identifier for us and the date and time of the click. It does not capture personal information about you or what you do once you’re on the merchant’s site.

Cookies typically expire after a set window (often 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days depending on the program). You can clear cookies in your browser at any time. You can also browse with cookies disabled if you prefer, which will block affiliate tracking entirely.

Our broader cookie and privacy practices, including any analytics tools we use to understand how the site is being read, are covered in our Privacy Policy.

Editorial Independence

Worth saying directly. The presence of affiliate relationships, including the close relationship with Wicked Boutique, doesn’t shape what we write about, how we write about it, or which positions we take on any topic. Our editorial decisions are made by our editors. Our recommendations come from honest judgment about what’s actually useful for the people who read this site.

If we ever stop being able to say that honestly, we’ll either stop the relationship or stop saying it. We won’t quietly drift.

Questions, Concerns, or Corrections

If you have a question about a specific link, a specific recommendation, or our affiliate practices in general, we want to hear it. Same goes if you spot something on the site that looks like an undisclosed paid relationship or affiliate link that isn’t marked. We’ll review and fix.

You can reach us through the contact information available on our About page.
